About US

Make it happen was born out of a need for a talent agency that works together with its clients and brings the humanity back to representation. Joseph Bethell a retired performer now teacher and creative wanted to foster an environment where hard work and passion for what you do should mean something.

“I believe in kindness, honesty, and most of all being the type of agent I wish I had had. I believe that my role should go beyond submissions, but being there to guide, help, and mentour up and coming talent”

Joey BEthell

Founder and Agent

Having initially trained at Bird College, Joey performed both nationally and internationally as a dancer, with additional training at the Broadway Dance Centre in NYC, as well as the Sydney Dance Company in Australia.

Joey was a senior agent and co-founder of West-Pier Agency. Alongside this, he was also the industry liaison for The Brighton Academy and in charge of the in-house college agency, TBA Management. In 2024, Joey founded MIH Associates.

Throughout Joey’s career, he has established a vast network of friends and colleagues within the industry, ranging from casting directors for West End musicals to creative directors for some of the world's largest show producers.

Joeys ethos and cornerstone of how he wants to run his agency is that hard work and kindness come above talent. He only wants to represent clients whom he knows and trusts will bring joy to whatever they do.

Joey has taught at some of the leading performing arts colleges in the country, including Performers College, Millennium Performing Arts, the Brighton Academy and Creative Academy in West London.

Joey is studying for an MA in Dance Producing and Management at the London Studio Centre. He still regularly freelances as a creative and choreographer.

Jessica Metcalfe

Agent

Jessica Metcalfe initially trained at the BRIT School before continuing her professional training at Millennium Performing Arts. After graduating in 2010, Jess went on to build a decade long international performance career.

Based in London, she performed at major venues including Wembley Arena and the Royal Albert Hall, before working internationally as a dancer at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. Jess later performed extensively at sea, working with Grayboy Entertainment in Australia and with Carnival Cruise Lines, holding the role of Dance Captain across multiple contracts. Alongside performing, she assisted on choreographic projects including commercial campaigns for Marks and Spencer, The X Factor and various live fashion shows.

As her career evolved, Jess became increasingly passionate about mental health and wellbeing within the performing arts industry. She went on to build a successful coaching business, delivering programmes in universities and colleges, as well as working one to one with performers. Her work focuses on equipping artists with practical tools to manage anxiety, self belief and the pressures the industry can bring. Jess coaches dancers, performers, entrepreneurs and public figures and has become a leader in this field.

Jess believes that while talent may open doors, it is emotional resilience, professionalism and kindness that sustain long and fulfilling careers. Her approach to representation is rooted in trust, clear communication and supporting artists as whole people, not just performers.

Jess is currently undertaking an MA in Dance Producing and Management at the London Studio Centre and is thrilled to be part of the MIH team.
